Job Description
The Commission seeks to appoint a well-versed human capital generalist who will be responsible for effectively managing and implementing the full life cycle of talent acquisition, development of policies and procedures, employee relations, learning& development, organisational development including talent management, workforce &succession planning, and general administration and support.
In addition, the individual will support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems as well as provide first line HR support to the organisation.
(A starting annual total cost to company package of R 686 246,14 negotiable commensurate with experience)
Five-year fixed term contract, renewable
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems
- Provide counseling and advice on policies and procedures
- Be actively involved in recruitment by preparing job descriptions, posting ads and managing the hiring process
- Create and implement effective onboarding plans
- Support training and development programs
- Assist in performance management processes
- Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues
- Maintain employee records (attendance, EEO data etc.) according to policy and legal requirements
- Review employment and working conditions to ensure legal compliance
- Develop and implement talent management strategies to retain and develop high-potential employees
- Design and implement succession planning processes to ensure identified positions are filled with qualified internal talent
- Conduct workforce planning to align the workforce with the organisation’s strategic goals and identify future talent needs
Job Requirements
Skills and Experience
We are looking for a dynamic and hard-working individual who meets the following requirements:
- Completed three-year National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Human Resources, Psychology, Industrial Psychology, Organisational Development or related field of study. Candidates in the process of completing the aforementioned qualifications will also be considered.
- Completed Bachelor’s Degree will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of HR functions (pay & benefits, talent acquisition, training & development etc.)
- At least 3 to 5 years’ proven experience as HR Generalist or Consultant, Administrator or other HR position
- Knowledge of HRMS and Psychometric assessment experience are an added advantage
- Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities
- An understanding of, and insight into, the BCEA, LRA, OHS, EE and POPI Acts
- Knowledge and understanding of South African laws and HR compliance and related regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude
- Strong ethics and reliability
- Experience of working with senior/ middle managers in talent acquisition and other related HR areas
- Experience in utilizing social media to attract the right talent
- Good understanding of HR systems and reporting
- Experience in implementing targeted talent initiatives
- Experience in developing and implementing talent management frameworks
- Experience in succession planning and workforce planning strategies
Competencies and skills:
- Excellent & confident communicator.
- Good understanding of related legislation is essential.
- Good facilitation and presentation skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Office (particularly EXCEL and PowerPoint).
- Excellent standard of written English.
